Film
An amazing choice of locations, from beaches, forests, coastlines, and rural areas to castles, historic downtown districts, city streets and alleys, and houses, make Victoria an ideal city for film productions. A long list of feature films, TV movies, documentaries, mini series, TV series, and commercials have been created in Victoria. Some of the most notable productions include X-Men 3, Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Fantastic Four 2, Mulligans, The Pianist, Little Women, and The Scarlet Letter.
The Greater Victoria Film Commission (GVFC) is the key organization providing support to film production companies. The GVFC is a not-for-profit organization that markets and promotes the locations, skills, and creativity inherent in Victoria and Vancouver Island to the global film industry. A range of services and assistance is available through the GVFC, including information on permits, tax credits, and funding sources; details and guidance on locations and studios; government contacts; and crews.
