Internet Usage
High speed internet has achieved almost universal penetration among internet users in Greater Victoria. Based on the most recent survey results from 2007, 96% of the region's internet users had high speed access through cable, telephone, satellite, or other connection technologies.
While the rate of high speed usage remains higher in Greater Victoria than in British Columbia, it is similar to other metropolitan areas. The region had higher rates of high speed usage in 2005, but by 2007 there was no longer a notable gap between Greater Victoria and the other metro areas.

Access to high speed internet service is essential for knowledge based workers and businesses and also indicates the technical sophistication of the resident population.
